Dr Udit Raj , Chairman of A I Confederation of SC/ ST Organisation & Ex MP, demanded that the New Parliament Building should be named after Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. The New Vista project was launched in 2020 where New Parliament Building is being built and is about to complete and All India Confederation of SC/ST Organisation was the first one to raise this demand. We are going to stage a rally on 28th November, 2022 at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi. For us, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is Masiha and a demonstration was organised on 10th December 2020 at the peak of Covid. We, followers risked our lives because it was connected to the dignity of our emancipator- Baba Saheb Dr B R Ambedkar. Those days people were afraid of stepping out of houses and lock down was strictly imposed.
We appreciate TRS Govt that it called a special session of the State Assembly to pass a resolution to name New Parliament Building as Dr B R Ambedkar. Both the houses of Telangana Assembly passed unanimously but BJP absented. The leader of opposition, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, raised the demand in the house and Information & Technology Minister, K T Rama Rao mooted the resolution. The resolution contained the reasonings and basis that it is the Dr B R Ambedkar who deserved most for this, who fathered the Constitution and fought for social justice . We will be failing to thank to the chief minister of Telangana without whom this couldn’t have been possible.
Dr Udit Raj said Maheswar Raj , Telangana SC/ST Confederation, has been tirelessly struggling to mount the pressure on Telangana state government and that worked . He has made appeal to all Members of Parliament and no positive response has been received. We gave a dead line to Modi Govt to accede our demands by 15th October 2022 but nothing is communicated so far and failing which we are going ahead to stage a rally on 28th November, 2022 at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi. Thousands of Ambedkarites, Buddhists and Social Justice Organisations from across the country have joined the call and they will be participating in the rally. In addition, we have been raising the issues like halt of privatisation of PSUs and Govt institutions, filling up of backlog government jobs, reservation in private sector, reservation in higher judiciary. Dr Udit Raj further said that Modi Govt is known for changing the names and renaming the places and monuments. It has changed name of Allahabad to Prayag Raj, Faizabad to Ayodhya, Aligarh to Harigarh and Mughalsai to Din Dayal Upadhyay so there shouldn’t be any problem to name this New Parliament Building as Dr B R Ambedkar.
