If any Dalit organization or leader has done the work that the All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations has done in the last 28 years, please tell us. Those works are being mentioned briefly and not in detail. The Confederation challenges that has anyone else done so much social work through dialogue or in writing as we have done? Here only a few works are being mentioned.
1. In 1997, 5 anti-reservation orders were issued and the All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations was formed to withdraw them. Huge movements and rallies took place in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000, due to which the 81st, 82nd and 85th constitutional amendments were made and reservation was saved.
2. On 4th November 2001, despite government difficulties, lakhs of people were initiated into Buddhism. Ram Raj became Udit Raj, which proves that this was an attempt to break the caste system and bring about real cultural change.
3. When government jobs were being abolished, we raised the issue of reservation in the private sector. When the issue started gaining momentum, some leaders of the society got scared and started weakening us by opposing us. Initially, due to the pressure of the movement, Manmohan Singh's government formed a committee of ministers under the leadership of Sharad Pawar to provide reservation in the private sector. If the society had fully supported, it is very possible that reservation in the private sector would have been granted by now.
4. In 2006, when the backward classes got reservation in higher education institutions, the so-called casteist people started opposing it. So the Confederation took the lead and finally the backward classes got reservation.
5. We raised the voice of oppression of Dalits many times from America to the Human Rights Commission of the United Nations.
6. In 2006, we defended the case of Nagaraj in the Supreme Court and worked to save reservation in promotions. Is there any other organisation or person in the country who became active at that time? If Dr. Udit Raj had not been there, perhaps reservation in promotion would have ended at that time itself. This controversy arose due to the 85th constitutional amendment. From the amendment to the Supreme Court, the Confederation did the work of protecting this right. The right which Dr. Udit Raj got was snatched away in Mayawati's government. On 4th January 2011, the Lucknow High Court ended reservation in promotion. The order of the High Court left so much scope that if the state government wants, it can continue reservation in promotion by fulfilling some conditions. Just like the Rajasthan government formed a committee and gave reservation in promotion, why did the Mayawati government not do the same? For the greed of upper caste votes, Mayawati ji did not take a decision herself and sent the matter to the Supreme Court and the decision of the High Court was approved there. We tried a lot from our side that the case should not go to the Supreme Court but the BSP government did not listen to us at all? Because the Confederation had raised this demand. Just think, who has created the problem of reservation in promotion?
7. In 2011, when Anna Hazare started the movement for Lokpal, the whole country came under pressure and Confederation was the only one who challenged whether Dalits, backward and minorities will also get a place in Lokpal? According to the demand at that time, the proceedings of the Parliament, Supreme Court, Prime Minister and even CBI should come under Lokpal. When we raised the issue of reservation in the Lokpal Bill, Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal lost interest in making it. Let us assume that if Confederation had not raised voice, Lokpal would have been made. Then Lokpal would have sat above the Constitution and the condition of women, Dalits and backward people in this country would have worsened. We made Bahujan Lokpal Bill and demanded reservation and this demand was also fulfilled.
8. Till now we have saved the jobs of thousands of employees and tried our best to end all the discrimination of lakhs of people, this is the reason that when Confederation makes an appeal, lakhs of people gather. The Confederation challenges anyone to debate in writing, if any other leader in the country has done so much work, then criticize, but point out the mistakes.
9. Dr. Udit Raj has asked as many questions about Dalits in Parliament as perhaps no one else has.
10. In the national conference held at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi on October 2024, it was unanimously decided to add OBCs and minorities to it and its name was changed to 'Confederation of Dalits, OBCs, Minorities and Adivasi Organizations (DOMA Parisangh). On 1st December 2024, a huge rally was held at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi under the banner of DOMA Parisangh, mainly to save the Constitution and reservation, stop interference in the Waqf Board and remove EVMs. After that, on 9th December 2024, agitation and march against atrocities against Muslims in Sambhal, agitation and sit-in demonstration on 19th December 2024 against insult of Dr. Ambedkar by Amit Shah in Parliament, collectively read the Preamble of the Constitution and burnt Manusmriti at Jantar Mantar, Delhi on 25th December. In January 2025, Shri Arvind Kejriwal's house was gheraoed twice against discrimination of priests of Valmiki and Ravidas temple and church and against the breaking of Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar's statue in Amritsar.
Is there any other organization fighting for rights every month?
